‘The Walking Dead’ Review: Dominic Patten On The Ratings Monster’s Return

It’s All about family this season.

The Walking Dead returns to AMC on October 12 for its fifth season. Lurching and stumbling and shooting and bashing zombies, all while lording it over pretty much all the rest of television, cable or network,  the series has built up an army of fans eagerly watching it cast of close-knit band of humans fight off the hordes of the undead.

Featuring Andrew Lincoln as Sheriff Rick Grimes, with Steven Yuen, Chandler Riggs, Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride, Walking Dead is the show that actually beat the usually unbeatable NFL among the key adults 18-49 demo a couple of times last season. Based on the comic series co-created by Robert Kirkman, the TV series is executive produced by Gale Anne Hurd, David AlpertGreg Nicotero,  Scott M. Gimple and Tom Luse along with Kirkman.

Well, when I asked The Boys about the Regina/Robin Hood/Marian love triangle presumably on tap for Season 4, Adam Horowitz was quick to retort, “Who says we’re doing a love triangle?” He then explained, “Hopefully it becomes less about the relationship itself and more about Regina [and] open[s] the door to who she is and what she’s going to become.” (Anything further on the topic will have to wait for TVLine’s Fall Preview Spectacular, coming soon.)
